Track: Mars Authors: Biometal/Spriggan Length: 763m Difficulty: Extreme Environment: Space From Venus straight to Mars, the indestructile RC cars of Re-Volt travel to the barren surface of the Red Planet. The particular area in which they've landed on just so happens to be one of the most frightening areas; Martians have chosen this area as one of their primary residential zones, so you'll be seeing plenty of them. You'll also see a few extinct volcanoes, including Mount Olympus, as well as a few other features. WATCH OUT FOR DUSTSTORMS! They will obstruct your view in the already-low visibility. Gravity will also be disruted near them. Present in the track are: steep plateaus, several Martian dunes, mounds, craters, tunnels of hardened magma, ancient and dormant volcanoes, and a bit more elements that you could expect to find on Mars. An unknown Mars Rover can be found scouring the area, but something seems to be jamming its signal and disrupting its maneuverance, causing it to behave sporadically. It is directly beneath a vacant UFO, so that could be causing a disruption in its system. Martian species whom will be spectating are: Tentus---Creatures that dwell in the sands. The base of their bodies are concealed by Mars' signature surface material and then hardened enough to use as a shield against the wild sandstorms, so you can see only their tentacles and bulging, grape-shaped eye protruding out from the top. How they do this is none of your Earthling business. They tend to pop up out of the ground either part way or entirely, and you'll know them when you see or hear them chittering. Waterseekers---These are tall quadrupeds with large megaphone-shaped ears, a flabby snout, and a gorgeously fluffy tail. They primarily drink water since they can find it here very easily, and can then convert it into an alternate food source whenever they feel the need to. They curl up in a ball while resting and can shelter themselves with their massive ears and tail to use as a shell against the brutal radiation that beams the Martian surface during the day, and it's also a defense against the occasional planet-wide duststorm. Waterseekers stay off to the sides to lay their eggs a good distance away from the Tentus, who like to eat them. However, losing eggs isn't a big deal for Waterseekers since they can produce more of them throughout the night while Tentus are inactive. Magmody---Subterranean, popeyed aliens that live in the dormant volcanoes. They and stare at you with their two emerald-colored eyes as you enter their territories. They may screech at you from time to time, which means that they want you to get out. They're not very welcoming toward outsiders, and they may even exhale an incredibly odiferous stream of fire at you if you aren't careful. But, you're an invincible RC car, meaning that it won't hurt, and that could make them angry. Tell 'em to chill out! Gouge-mouth Burroworm---This gargantuan alien has left plenty of giant mounds throughout the track due to violently burrowing beneath the surface so often. It can't see nor hear, but it can naturally sense vibrations very easily. Somehow, it knows where you are even when you're airborne, but it won't pursue you. However, it does hold something important in its bloody mouth, if you're bold enough to get near it. You'd need to figure out how to access its enclosure anyway. Another species whose names require a bit of deciphering in Martian language are also here...please wait while I attempt to translate it. "6...23....623.......-....4....623-4...." "No...that's not right...lemme see here..." "23...1...2...dash...." "2312-...." "9....20....920..." "2312-920...translating that into the human English alphabet seems to spell out 'WAB-IT' if you associate each number alphanumerically. Ex: A = 1, B = 2, etc." Looks like they're WABITs, which somewhat matches their hilariously ugly appearance. Go and find them. They tend to not move once they've been spotted, and instead focus their gaze on you with their bowling-ball shaped eyes. The raceline is rugged, but paved out a bit by the rampant sandstorms, and the gravity is slightly weaker due to the incredibly thin Martian atmosphere. There are plenty of jumps, so don't fall off any cliffs. Important Notes: *Lightweight cars excel here, but not by far. Use them if you want a slight advantage. *The pickups are scattered and deformed as a result of getting blown around by Mars' ruthless duststorms. *Genghis Kar (AI) struggles here no matter what I do. Humma and Bertha Ballistics excel. *Go as fast as you want, but be cautious. *Whine if you so desire; the atmosphere is too thin for you to even be heard anyway. Even if you do it as loudly as you can, your human voice will be extremely low-pitched and almost inaudible. Might as well not even bother, since any oxygen in your lungs would be forcefully taken clean out from you. Doesn't that sound nice? *They don't understand Z'z unless you're Elon Musk saying them. *There will be five pick-up stars, and five practice stars. *The ball bearing has become a portion of the worm's fecal matter. ..how pleasant. At least you won't have to smell it. *The horn is not a horn. All cars' engines may have another Martian lifeform inside. *The music loops the way 607 wants it to so that he can finally get some decent sleep tonight. *Why are RC cars able to even move around here? What exactly are these mere toys made of that allows them to endure such atmospheric conditions? Obviously, they're immune to the hostility of space. [Hints for Practice Star locations] 1st star: "Bait. Come. Eat. You. Food." 2nd star: "A fire-spewing ascension." 3rd star: "Magmody's lair." 4th star: "Impact." 5th star: "???" (Find a way to breach one of the WABIT UFO's. They'll be surprised at you and afraid to move.) *Known Bugs* 1. None found. Cool, dawg. 2. Nevermind. When you start the track, cars may have an odd light-blue streak on them, but it goes away without you even noticing. 3. "Car started over finish line!" occurs in while entering Practice Mode. *Tools Used/Credits* Blender Master Blakez Superinteressante Roy A.
